Living with friends

Living together isn’t just about sharing space; it’s about creating lifelong memories. Living with your mates is great fun – film nights, chilled evenings, good vibes. However, it’s crucial to take care and consider some basic advice. Take some time and think whether moving in with certain people is really a viable option for you. Additionally, discussing accommodation costs early on is crucial to avoid any financial disagreements down the line. At LPR, we prioritise transparency and ensure that each tenant has a guarantor, offering financial security for all housemates.

What does it cost ?

The cost of student housing in Leeds varies widely, ranging from £300 per month for a modest house share to £1,500 for more luxurious accommodation.

While budget is a significant consideration, it’s essential to factor in additional expenses such as bills and transportation when assessing affordability. Opting for accommodation with inclusive bills can simplify your finances and prevent disputes among housemates.

Peace of mind.

Timing your search

Starting your house hunt early can alleviate stress and ensure a wider selection of properties. With houses in high demand from October to February, early planning allows for a more relaxed search process and greater flexibility in choosing your ideal home. You can register your interest in all of our properties any time even if it’s currently let and our automated system will notify you as soon as it’s available.

Choose Quality

Regardless of your budget, you want to know that you’re moving into a quality student house. As a Unipol Full Code agent, LPR adheres to high standards, providing peace of mind for tenants. Viewing the property before signing a tenancy agreement is essential as it allows you to assess its condition and suitability for your needs.

Understanding your contract

Our tenancy agreements have been put together to protect the interest of both the tenant and the landlord and we encourage you to read everything thoroughly before signing. All our agreements clearly outline rights, responsibilities, inspection schedules, and maintenance arrangements but if there’s something you aren’t clear of please just ask.

Parents & Guarantors

Every student tenant must provide a UK homeowner as a guarantor for their portion of the total rent. This is because most students don’t have an extensive credit history, lack three years of tenancy records, and typically don’t earn enough to pass a tenancy affordability check. Having a guarantor not only gives peace of mind to us as landlords but also protects the individual student tenants within the house share. With each tenant backed by a guarantor, we have the option to pursue the guarantor for any rent arrears, rather than placing the burden on the remaining housemates.

Equipping your home

Assess the facilities provided in your accommodation and determine if any additional appliances are needed. Coordinating with your housemates can prevent duplicate purchases and ensure that essential items are available from day one.

Don’t just take our word for it. Listen to what our customers have to say.

  • “I rented from these guys for a couple of years. There were a couple of minor maintenance issues during my tenancy which they sorted out really quickly. Would definitely rent from LPR again.”
